Bro. Stephen Rabisa Gift of Education (BSRGE) Core group headed by Class ’64 representative, Mr. Raul “Bong” Vizconde, welcomes the new members of Pamilya ’64 during the annual Bible and rosary Giving and laptop distribution at the Yellow Boardroom, Diokno Building.
The new batch of scholars, Batch 18, were invited together with their parents to formally be informed that they have been chosen to receive the Bro. Stephen Rabisa Gift of Education.
The program started with an opening prayer led by Coreen Katigbak, Batch 14 scholar and Program Coordinator of the Pamilya ‘64 Scholars’ Core group. It was then followed by Nesiel Manalo, Batch 1 scholar and the Chairperson of the Pamilya ’64 Core group. During her talk, Nesiel shared about her experiences as a Rabisa scholar and how she is now returning the kindness and passing it on by helping out Pamilya ’64 as the head of the core group.
The program went on with the introduction of the Batch 18 scholars who timidly shared information about themselves. To get on with the orientation of the new scholars about BSRGE, Sir Bong shared about Class ’64 and how the idea about BSRGE sparked among the members of the class, their purpose, goals and vision. Sir Bong also shared about some activities that are done by the members of Pamilya ’64, a group composed of Class ’64, scholars and their family. He also emphasized about some responsibilities and reminders to the new scholars which was further discussed by Jed Brian Casanova, Batch 10 and Communications Officer of Pamilya ’64 Core group.
The program of the day came down to the most important part which is the distribution of the Bible and Rosary among the new scholars. Nesiel explained the reason behind the annual giving of bible and rosary by the Abad family who has inspired all the scholars to hold on to their faith and always call on to God throughout their journey just as how the rest of the Class ’64 members do. After the Bible and Rosary giving, the parents were asked to share their thoughts and message to the new batch of scholars and to BSRGE in general. The distribution of the brand-new laptops to the new batch of scholars, then followed so that they will have a gadget to use for their studies. They expressed how grateful they are for such a golden opportunity for their children and their family as a whole and reminded the new scholars to make the most of the chance given to them. The program was concluded with a closing prayer led by Arabelle Balita, Batch 10 scholar and Secretary of the Pamilya ’64 Core group and a photo opportunity with the new batch of scholars, their parents and the Pamilya ’64 Core group members.
